Field Project Engineer
About This Role
We’re hiring a Field Project Engineer to run construction projects across Texas. You’ll be the on-site point person who ensures work stays on schedule, meets specifications, and follows building codes and safety rules. This is a hands-on role: manage scope and deliverables, coordinate contractors and inspections, track progress in construction management software, and keep clear documentation. Strong leadership, clear communication, and practical construction experience are required.
What You'll Do
- • Manage day-to-day project scope, schedule, budget and deliverables across assigned sites
- • Coordinate bid evaluation, contractor selection, onboarding and subcontractor oversight
- • Oversee permit application, inspection scheduling and compliance with building codes and safety regulations
- • Review drawings and specs, issue RFIs/submittals, and resolve field technical questions
- • Track and report project performance using construction management software; maintain all project documentation
- • Conduct quality-control checks, identify risks, and implement mitigation and corrective actions
What We're Looking For
- • 3+ years field or project engineering experience on commercial or industrial construction projects
- • Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and contract documents
- • Proven project management and team leadership skills; experience coordinating subcontractors and stakeholders
- • Working knowledge of building codes, permit and inspection processes, and jobsite safety requirements
- • Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project or similar) and MS Office
- • Excellent verbal and written communication, documentation, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent experience (or 3+ years relevant field experience)
- • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- • Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project or similar)
- • First Aid/CPR or safety certifications a plus
- • English — fluent (ability to communicate clearly with crews and clients)
