Labor Foreman
About this role
We are hiring a Labor Foreman to supervise and coordinate general construction labor on projects in Williamsburg, VA. You will run the daily crew, set schedules, assign tasks, enforce safety and quality standards, and report progress to the Superintendent. This is a hands-on role for someone with solid construction experience who can lead a crew, read drawings, solve on-site problems, and keep work moving on time. OSHA 10 is required (or we will help you obtain it), and a minimum of 2 years’ construction experience is needed to succeed in this position.
What you'll do
- • Plan and coordinate daily crew tasks and produce basic schedules
- • Monitor crew attendance, allocate responsibilities, and ensure adequate manpower
- • Supervise, train, and mentor laborers on safe, correct work methods
- • Enforce site safety rules, inspect work for quality, and ensure compliance with codes
- • Troubleshoot on-site issues and make quick, practical decisions to keep work on schedule
- • Report daily progress, issues, and resource needs to the Superintendent
What we're looking for
- • 2+ years of hands-on construction experience (commercial or residential)
- • OSHA 10 hour certification — or willingness to obtain site certification
- • Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and blueprints
- • Strong leadership and team-management skills with clear verbal and written communication
- • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and quality inspection
- • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and handle physical labor
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
- • Minimum 2 years construction field experience
- • OSHA 10 hour certification (or willing to obtain)
- • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
- • Able to read construction drawings and enforce safety/compliance
