General Labor — Shipyard Laborer

About This Role

Full-time shipyard laborer position based in Jersey City, NJ. This is hands-on general labor supporting fabrication, repair, and shipyard operations. You must have prior shipyard experience and live within a commutable distance to the yard. Day-to-day work is physical and safety-focused: rigging and material handling, assisting crane operations, prepping and cleaning work areas, and supporting trades like concrete, ironwork, and precast erection. TWIC and OSHA 10 are required — come ready to work and follow lift plans and site safety rules.

What You'll Do

• • Perform general labor tasks to support shipyard fabrication, repair, and maintenance crews (material handling, cleanup, staging).
• • Assist riggers and operators with multi-crane lifts, set up/tear down of lattice and telescopic boom attachments, and follow lift plans.
• • Load/unload and move precast, piping, concrete forms, and ironwork; help with elevated masonry and demolition support when required.
• • Prepare and clean work areas, secure materials, and assist trade crews (concrete, masonry, piping, curtainwall installation) for efficient operations.
• • Work safely around electrical transmission wires and at heights; follow site PPE and safety protocols at all times.

What We're Looking For

• • Minimum prior shipyard experience — proven ability to work safely in a yard environment.
• • Hands-on experience with rigging, crane-assisted lifts, multi-crane operations, and boom assemblies (telescopic and lattice).
• • Experience with precast erection, general concrete work, ironwork, pipelaying, and demolition support for crane operations.
• • Comfortable working at heights (elevated masonry, wind tower tasks) and operating/work­ing in proximity to electrical transmission wires.
• • Must live within a reasonable commuting distance to the Jersey City yard and have reliable transportation.
