Expeditor / Material Coordinator
About this role
We’re hiring an expeditor/material coordinator in Raleigh, NC to keep jobs moving. You’ll manage deliveries, confirm material availability, and coordinate schedules with vendors, subcontractors, and field crews. This is a hands-on role that supports multiple trades across local construction sites. This position suits candidates with construction experience who like organizing logistics and solving delivery issues. Typical work is Monday–Friday with early starts as needed and occasional site visits throughout the Raleigh area.
What you'll do
- • Place and track material orders, confirm ETAs, and follow up with vendors
- • Schedule and coordinate deliveries to job sites and warehouses
- • Receive and inspect incoming materials; report shortages or damaged goods
- • Update delivery logs, purchase order status, and schedule changes in project tracking tools
- • Communicate daily with superintendents, foremen, and suppliers to prevent delays
- • Resolve on-site material issues quickly to keep crews productive
What we're looking for
- • 1–3 years construction or logistics experience working with material procurement or site coordination
- • Strong verbal and written communication; able to coordinate with vendors and field crews
- • Comfortable visiting job sites across Raleigh and handling on-site receiving
- • Basic computer skills: email, spreadsheets, and order-tracking systems
- • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors when needed
- • Reliable transportation and availability for early-morning deliveries or schedule changes
Qualifications
- • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- • High school diploma or GED
- • OSHA 10-hour construction safety card preferred
- • Forklift certification a plus
- • Ability to pass background and drug screening
- • Spanish language skills a plus
