About This Role

Hands-on Operator Foreman needed in Minneapolis, MN. This role runs heavy equipment on civil and site-development jobs while supervising a crew, keeping projects on schedule, and maintaining safe jobsite conditions. Expect to operate dozers, loaders, scrapers, rollers and other gear and to step in when leadership or operator skills are needed. Pay range is $18–$42/hr with per diem for eligible travel assignments. You'll be responsible for equipment upkeep, coaching operators, checking timecards, following work plans, and making sure work is completed to plan and safety standards.

What You'll Do

  • Operate heavy equipment daily (dozer, loader, scraper, grader, roller, excavator, skid-steer, forklift/telehandler, boom lifts) and perform assigned earthmoving tasks
  • Supervise, coordinate and direct work of operators and laborers to meet project schedules and quality standards
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance; troubleshoot and report equipment issues promptly
  • Follow work plans, pre-task cards, GPS grade guidance, and adjust work sequences to meet production targets
  • Verify crew timecards, enforce safety rules, provide on-the-job coaching, and document work inspections

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years operating heavy construction equipment on civil/site work
  • Valid driver’s license with proper classification and endorsements as required by law
  • Equipment certifications and proven ability to operate dozer, loader, scraper, grader, roller, excavator, and related gear
  • Strong safety focus: able to read and follow safety rules, pre-task plans, and operation manuals
  • Hands-on basic maintenance skills and ability to spot mechanical/electrical issues on equipment
  • Clear communicator, able to lead crew, give feedback, and work with diverse crews

Qualifications

  • Forklift Operator certification (required)
  • Other equipment certifications (dozer, grader, excavator, crane/rigging when applicable)
  • Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operator experience on civil/mass grading projects
  • Valid driver’s license with necessary endorsements for heavy equipment/lowbed driving
  • Comfortable working near electrical transmission lines and on steep terrain
  • English proficiency to read safety materials and communicate with crew (additional languages a plus)
