General Laborer

About this role

Join a busy construction crew in Sanford, FL as a hands-on general laborer. You’ll work outdoors on commercial and residential sites, supporting carpenters, concrete crews, and equipment operators. This is physical work: expect lifting, carrying, digging, and routine use of hand and power tools. Shifts are typically morning start times with full-day hours, Monday–Friday or a compressed schedule depending on the project. You’ll report to the foreman, follow site instructions, attend brief safety meetings, and keep the site organized to keep crews productive and safe.

What you'll do

• • Load and unload materials, move supplies around the site, and stage materials for trades
• • Prepare and clean job sites daily: sweep, remove debris, place dumpsters, and maintain clear walkways
• • Assist with concrete forming, pouring, finishing, and basic carpentry tasks under direction
• • Operate hand and light power tools (saws, drills, grinders) and maintain tools and basic equipment
• • Follow directions from foremen and lead hands, complete assigned tasks on schedule, and communicate issues
• • Set up safety barriers, support traffic control when needed, and follow site-specific safety procedures

What we're looking for

• • Able to perform sustained physical work outdoors in heat and rain; regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• • Reliable transportation to Sanford job sites and consistent on-time attendance
• • Willingness to follow directions, complete tasks with minimal supervision, and work in a team
• • Comfortable using hand tools and basic power tools; prior construction or landscaping experience preferred
• • Able to pass a drug screen and basic background check if required for the site

Qualifications

• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Sanford, FL sites
• • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
• • OSHA 10 or willingness to obtain within first months on the job preferred
• • Ability to read basic measurements, follow written instructions, and use a tape measure
