General Laborer

About This Role

General Laborer — Charlotte, NC. Pay $12-$30/hr depending on experience. This is hands-on construction site work focused on site housekeeping, material handling, and providing labor support to carpenters, masons and other trade crews. You will perform daily setup and cleanup, assist with deliveries and material storage, keep jobsite trailers clean, navigate varied terrain, and report safety incidents to the Foreperson. Work is crew-based and directed by a Foreperson; good attendance, a safety-first attitude, and the ability to follow direction are required.

What You'll Do

• • Perform daily site setup and cleanup, including removal and disposal of construction debris
• • Assist with unloading, staging and storing materials on site and help with deliveries as needed
• • Clean and sanitize jobsite trailers, common areas, and keep the site tidy inside and out
• • Provide general labor support to carpenters, masons, and other trades as directed by the Foreperson
• • Navigate uneven jobsite terrain and move materials safely across the site
• • Report all safety incidents, near-misses and injuries immediately to the Foreperson and Safety Leader

What We're Looking For

• • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience
• • Previous construction or general labor experience preferred
• • Must be able to perform physical work: lift frequently up to 50 lbs, stand, bend, climb
• • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and on uneven terrain
• • Ability to follow direction from Foreperson, work as part of a crew, and maintain a safety-first mindset
• • OSHA 10 preferred — or willing to obtain (assistance available to get certified)

Qualifications

• • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
• • OSHA 10 (recommended; assistance provided if needed)
• • Proof of certifications or training to be provided at hire
• • Reliable transportation to jobsite or valid driver's license preferred
• • Basic English comprehension for safety instructions and reporting
