About this role
We’re hiring a hands-on General Laborer in Temple, TX to support active construction sites. You’ll handle cleanup, material staging, traffic control, and assist carpenters and other trades to keep the job moving safely and on schedule. This is physical, outdoor work in varying weather and site conditions. Expect to use hand and power tools, work from ladders and scaffolds, operate lifts/vehicles if certified, and lift up to 80 lbs. Strong safety focus and the ability to follow directions are essential.
What you'll do
- • Perform daily site cleanup and debris removal; sweep floors and maintain clean walkways.
- • Unload trucks, stage materials, and perform material/tool inventory and inspections.
- • Assist carpenters and other trades with general tasks and light demolition.
- • Use hand and power tools (screw guns, demo saws, rotary hammers, grinders) and maintain tools.
- • Support site access and security: open/close gates, set up temporary fencing, and direct foot/vehicle traffic.
- • Operate scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, and utility vehicles when certified; work from ladders and scaffolding as needed.
What we're looking for
- • OSHA 10-hour card required; strong safety awareness and willingness to attend toolbox talks and pre-task plans.
- • Ability to perform physical labor in all weather, including lifting up to 80 lbs, climbing ladders, and working on uneven surfaces.
- • Hands-on experience with common hand and power tools; basic demolition and cleanup experience.
- • Comfortable working in confined spaces and around other trades; ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to local job sites; must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
Qualifications
- • OSHA 10-hour certification (required).
- • Forklift operator certification (preferred); scissor lift/boom lift certifications a plus.
- • Comfortable using screw guns, demo saws, rotary hammers, grinders, shovels and brooms.
- • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability to pass drug and background checks.
- • Ability to read basic plans/instructions; English required, Spanish helpful.
What we offer
- • Personal protective equipment and basic tools provided on site.
- • Paid site-specific safety training and toolbox talks; support for certification renewals where applicable.
- • Overtime opportunities and extra shifts available on many projects.
- • Clear advancement path with training to move into lead or foreman roles.
- • Local project assignments in the Temple area to limit long travel between sites.
