General Laborer

About This Role

General Laborer needed in Fairfax, VA to support commercial and residential construction crews. This is hands-on work: loading/unloading materials, cleaning and preparing job sites, and assisting skilled trades as directed. You’ll be working outdoors much of the day, so be prepared for changing weather and a physical workload. We need dependable team players who understand basic construction methods and can move quickly in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. If you’re ready to work hard, learn on the job, and help keep projects on schedule, this role is a solid fit.

What You'll Do

• • Assist tradespeople with general construction tasks as directed (carrying materials, holding, positioning)
• • Load, unload, and move materials and equipment on site
• • Perform site clean-up, debris removal, and maintain an organized work area
• • Apply basic construction methods and follow layout or work instructions
• • Perform routine work inspection and report issues to supervisors; help prepare sites for inspections

What We're Looking For

• • Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and procedures
• • Experience loading and unloading materials and operating basic hand tools
• • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and in high-stress, fast-paced environments
• • Strong teamwork and communication skills; follow direction from supervisors
• • Physically able to lift, carry, and move materials regularly (frequent lifting up to 50 lbs)

Qualifications

• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Fairfax job sites
• • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
• • OSHA-10 or equivalent safety training preferred (but not required)
• • Basic English for following instructions and job-site communication
