Construction Laborer — SWPPP & Fueling

About This Role

Construction Laborer — Join local civil and commercial crews working on sites around Lebanon, IN. This is a hands-on, field-based role performing general construction support: loading/unloading materials, site cleanup, excavation support, and assisting with scaffolding and traffic control. SWPPP (storm water prevention) experience or experience fueling heavy equipment is a strong plus. You'll work outdoors on active jobs, follow safety procedures, support fueling and maintenance tasks as needed, and help keep sites compliant and productive. On-the-job training available for motivated candidates.

What You'll Do

• • Perform general construction labor: load/unload materials, move supplies, and clean job sites daily.
• • Support excavation and trench work: assist with shoring, backfill, and safe material handling.
• • Set up and maintain SWPPP controls (silt fence, straw, inlet protection) and perform routine inspections if trained.
• • Fuel and service heavy equipment and small machinery safely; document fueling and equipment needs.
• • Assist with scaffolding installation, site layout, traffic control/flagging, and basic forklift operations as required.
• • Follow site safety plans, maintain housekeeping, and report hazards or equipment issues to supervisors.

What We're Looking For

• • 1+ years construction or civil labor experience preferred; SWPPP or fueling experience strongly preferred.
• • Ability to operate hand and light power tools; forklift experience a plus.
• • Comfortable performing physical tasks outdoors in all weather; able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly.
• • Familiarity with excavation/trench work, scaffolding systems, site layout, and traffic control preferred.
• • Reliable transportation to local job sites and dependable attendance; willingness to work overtime when needed.
• • Read, follow, and enforce basic safety procedures; able to take direction and work on a crew.

Qualifications

• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• • OSHA 10-hour preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• • Forklift certification preferred; training can be provided for the right candidate
• • SWPPP training/certification or prior stormwater experience a plus
• • Flagger/traffic control card a plus
• • Able to pass drug screen and background check; physically able to perform heavy labor
