General Laborer — Tunnel Project

About This Role

Join a major tunnel project in Manchester, NH as a General Laborer. This hourly position starts at $23.00/hr DOE and supports crews with site cleanup, material handling, trenching, concrete support, and tunnel maintenance. You’ll work under the foreman on an active public-works site where prevailing wage rates may apply. This is a hands-on job that includes work in and around a tunnel (assembly of precast liners, utility lines, ventilation, grout systems) and support for TBM maintenance. Training for hyperbaric/TBM tasks will be provided. Night, weekend, and on-call shifts are possible — strong safety focus and teamwork required.

What You'll Do

• • Perform general site cleanup, debris removal, and housekeeping to maintain a safe work area
• • Unload and move materials; assist other trades with rigging and material handling
• • Hand excavation, trenching, grading, and backfilling; support concrete placing, vibrating, screeding, and patching
• • Assemble precast tunnel segment liners and maintain tunnel utilities (ventilation, grout system, cables, piping)
• • Assist with TBM maintenance tasks and hyperbaric work after training; perform demolition, fire watch, and erosion control as needed

What We're Looking For

• • Able to perform physical labor in varying conditions (outdoor and underground work, night shifts)
• • Previous construction or underground/tunnel experience preferred
• • Comfortable working around heavy equipment, jack hammers, concrete saws, and tunneling equipment
• • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and be on call when project needs demand
• • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• • High school diploma, GED, or relevant vocational/work experience
• • OSHA 10 preferred (OSHA 30 a plus)
• • CPR and First Aid preferred
• • Qualified Rigger or Certified Rigger preferred
• • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly; capable of physical work and climbing ladders/scaffolding
