Glazier Team Lead

Atlanta, GA $17-$29/hr

About this role

Join a new Atlanta glass team as the key field lead. This is a hands-on, full-time role installing and repairing residential and light-commercial windows, doors, mirrors, and storefront glass. You’ll run jobs, train and build the first crews, and ensure work meets plans and local codes. This is a founding position with clear advancement to General Manager for the right person. Expect a practical, team-focused work environment, well-maintained vehicles and tools, and on-the-job training to grow your leadership and operations skills. Typical schedule is full-time field work with occasional weekends or after-hours service as needed.

What you'll do

  • Lead and build initial glazing crews: assign tasks, train crew members, and enforce safe work practices
  • Measure, fabricate, and install residential and light-commercial windows, glass doors, mirrors, and storefront systems
  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications; perform on-site takeoffs and ensure code compliance
  • Manage client-facing interactions on site: explain scope, address concerns, and confirm customer satisfaction
  • Maintain vehicles, tools, and shop equipment; load/unload materials and track inventory
  • Complete daily reports, job documentation, and use construction management software for scheduling and invoicing

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience with residential and light-commercial glass and window installation and repair
  • Ability to read drawings, follow specifications, and apply local building codes
  • Strong communication skills and experience supervising or leading small crews
  • Comfortable handling client interactions, conflict resolution, and on-site problem solving
  • Skilled with fabrication tools and safe operation of jobsite equipment
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for field work

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license; clean driving record preferred
  • Familiarity with local building codes, permitting, and inspection processes
  • Experience using construction or project management apps (scheduling, reporting)
  • OSHA 10 or equivalent safety training preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work from ladders and scaffolding, and perform physical labor

What we offer

  • Clear path to General Manager and leadership growth
  • Work with top-tier tools, vehicles, and shop equipment
  • On-the-job training and mentoring to expand technical and supervisory skills
  • Consistent full-time schedule with overtime opportunities when needed
  • Founding-team role with a supportive, crew-focused work culture
  • Company-provided safety gear and vehicle/equipment use for job duties
