Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Diesel)

About this role

We are hiring a hands-on diesel mechanic in Houston, TX to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered heavy equipment and trucks. You’ll work in the shop and on job sites to keep machines running safely and on schedule. This is practical, physical work: routine maintenance, engine and electrical troubleshooting, and repairs to pumps, valves, and power systems. What you'll do

• • Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and drivetrains
• • Diagnose mechanical, engine, and electrical faults using hand tools and diagnostic equipment
• • Service heavy equipment and trucks: replace parts, adjust systems, and test equipment for safe operation
• • Troubleshoot power, fuses, pumps, gas valves, and related components
• • Keep work logs, complete repair orders, and order parts as needed; maintain clean, safe job sites and shop areas

What we're looking for

• • Proven experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment diesel engines
• • Skill troubleshooting mechanical systems (pumps and gas valves) and electrical power/fuse issues
• • Experience with general heavy equipment maintenance and system troubleshooting
• • Comfortable working in the shop and at job sites; able to lift heavy parts and work in varied weather
• • Reliable transportation, punctuality, and the ability to follow safety procedures

Qualifications

• • High school diploma or GED preferred
• • ASE Heavy-Duty/Diesel certification or equivalent (preferred)
• • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred or ability to obtain where required
• • Ability to pass drug screen and background check
• • Basic Spanish language skills a plus
