About This Role

Join a busy rental shop in Amarillo as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. You’ll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and turning around returned rental equipment, keeping a clean and organized shop and service truck, and responding to customer and onsite service calls. This role requires a hands-on technician with at least 2 years of field experience, strong diagnostic skills, basic computer ability for rental/P2P software, and the ability to prioritize repairs while delivering solid customer service. You must provide your own tools and be ready to work independently or with a small team.

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose, repair, and return rental equipment to service quickly and safely
  • Maintain a clean, organized shop, warehouse inventory, and service truck
  • Coordinate and respond to customer and onsite service calls; prioritize repairs to meet business needs
  • Read schematics and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical failures
  • Inventory, order, and organize commonly used parts and shop supplies
  • Follow safety procedures and OSHA guidelines while using shop equipment and hand tools

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience as a technician working on construction or heavy equipment
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Comfortable reading schematics and using basic diagnostic tools
  • Basic computer skills; experience with rental software and P2P systems (Wynne Rental Man, Coupa) preferred
  • Strong customer-service skills, dependable attendance, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Must provide own tools and maintain a well-stocked service truck

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Owns required hand and power tools for the trade
  • ASE or OEM service certifications preferred
  • Wynne Rental Man and Coupa experience a plus
  • Able to pass background check and drug screen; CDL or DOT medical card preferred but not required
  • English proficiency for reading schematics and customer communication
