About This Role

Join our Solutions Center team in Chandler, AZ as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. You’ll perform regular maintenance and complex repairs on construction equipment and cranes, diagnosing hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, transmission and track issues. The role includes shop work plus travel to yards and jobsites to support crews across projects. We want experienced mechanics who work safe, finish quality repairs, and keep equipment ready to go. This is hands-on work: you’ll operate equipment after repairs, order parts, maintain secure storage, and complete daily checks. What You'll Do

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, diesel engine, transmission, track and powertrain systems on construction equipment and cranes
  • Perform daily equipment checks and operate/test heavy equipment safely after repairs
  • Order parts, manage inventory, and document repairs and maintenance work accurately
  • Maintain a clean, safe shop and ensure equipment is stored securely when not in use
  • Communicate equipment issues and repair status clearly with supervisors and field crews
  • Weld/fabricate simple repairs as needed and support on-site breakdown recovery and troubleshooting

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years’ heavy equipment mechanic experience with a large construction or civil contractor
  • Strong hydraulic system troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Solid electrical troubleshooting skills for control circuits, power distribution and fuses
  • Experience with diesel engines, transmissions and general powertrain maintenance
  • Able to lift 50 lbs, squat, crawl and work in confined spaces; reliable attendance and ability to follow a work schedule
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to travel to yards and jobsites as required

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license (required) and clean driving record
  • TWIC credential (preferred)
  • CDL (B/C/A) preferred — class depending on site needs
  • Proof of identity and employment authorization (I-9 documentation)
  • Age 18+
  • Ability to provide/maintain necessary hand and power tools
