About This Role

Join a site crew in Lebanon, IN as a Heavy Equipment Operator. You’ll run dozers, loaders, scrapers, forklifts, cranes, skid-steers and more while following work plans, load charts and safety procedures. This is a per diem position — dependable hands-on work, with travel/per diem when applicable. We need operators who work clean, follow safety rules, and communicate clearly with foremen and other trades. Must hold a Class A CDL, required equipment certifications, and at least 1 year of heavy equipment experience. If you take care of gear and want steady, practical work, this role fits.

What You'll Do

  • Operate equipment daily: dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, skid-steer/bobcat, backhoe/excavator and rollers as assigned
  • Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections, routine maintenance, and report malfunctions immediately
  • Follow work plans, pre-task cards and load charts to move material and grade accurately
  • Maintain safe work area and housekeeping; follow site safety rules, flagging and traffic controls
  • Coordinate with foremen, spotters and crew for loading/unloading, site layout and equipment moves
  • Complete required paperwork: timecards, inspection logs, and equipment maintenance notes

What We're Looking For

  • Class A CDL required with current, valid license and endorsements
  • Minimum 1 year of heavy equipment operating experience on construction sites (dozer, loader, scraper, excavator preferred)
  • Current equipment certifications as required by site (certs for crane, telehandler, boom/boom lift when applicable)
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, load charts, operating manuals and simple site plans
  • Capable of routine diesel/gasoline engine checks and basic equipment maintenance; able to detect malfunctions
  • Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs, perform repetitive movements, and work in all weather conditions

Qualifications

  • Class A CDL (required)
  • Equipment certifications as required by site (crane, telehandler, lift certifications)
  • Minimum 1 year heavy equipment operating experience
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to read/speak basic English for safety communication
  • Able to pass drug screen and meet site background/access requirements
