Heavy Equipment Operator

Eagle Mountain, UT $25-$32/hr

About this role

Experienced heavy equipment operators wanted for a large datacenter site development in Eagle Mountain, UT. This is hands-on site work: dozers, loaders, graders, excavators and other large earthmoving equipment will be used to build pads, roads, and finished grades. Candidates must be local to Eagle Mountain (no per diem provided) and able to work on a fast-moving civil construction site. We're looking for operators who know GPS/grade-control equipment, can perform basic maintenance, and reliably hit production and quality targets day-to-day.

What you'll do

  • Operate dozers, wheel/loaders, motor graders, excavators, skid steers and dump trucks for site development and paving prep
  • Perform finish grading, cut/fill operations, compaction checks and screed/grader setups to meet grade plans
  • Load/unload material, move spoils, and assist with site hauling and material placement
  • Use GPS navigation/GPS rover and grade-control systems to follow plans and grade stakes
  • Complete pre- and post-shift equipment inspections and perform basic hydraulic/diesel troubleshooting; report major defects
  • Maintain safe housekeeping, traffic control and follow site-specific safety procedures

What we're looking for

  • Must reside locally in Eagle Mountain, UT — no per diem offered
  • Proven experience operating dozers, loaders, motor graders and excavators on civil/site development projects
  • Hands-on experience with GPS/grade-control systems and reading grade stakes/plan sheets
  • Ability to perform basic heavy-equipment maintenance (hydraulic systems, diesel engine checks) and report issues
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation to the jobsite, and ability to pass a drug screen
  • Comfort working in a heavy civil construction environment with tight schedules and crew coordination

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred for dump truck work
  • Equipment operator certification or documented heavy-equipment experience
  • OSHA 10-hour or equivalent safety training preferred
  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience)
  • Ability to pass required pre-employment drug screen and background check

What we offer

  • Steady, long-duration work on a large datacenter site development
  • Site-specific safety training and required PPE provided
  • Access to heavy equipment and grade-control technology on-site
  • Local schedule with on-site parking and predictable daily reporting location
  • Opportunities to build experience on complex civil and paving work
