Scraper Civil Operator

About this role

Join a civil construction crew in Lebanon, IN as a Scraper Civil Operator. You’ll run scrapers and other heavy equipment to move earth, perform mass grading, and prepare sites for large-scale projects. Work is hands-on, outdoors, and focused on efficient, safe site production. This is a full-time, onsite role supporting civil work and paving prep. You’ll work with site supervisors and other operators to follow project plans, perform routine equipment checks, and keep jobs moving to meet schedule and quality targets.

What you'll do

• • Operate scrapers and other heavy equipment (graders, loaders, dump trucks) to perform earthmoving and mass grading per plans and grade stakes
• • Perform daily equipment inspections, basic preventative maintenance, and report mechanical issues to supervision
• • Follow project specifications, site layout, and grade/line instructions to achieve required tolerances
• • Load and unload materials, assist with hauling operations, and coordinate with dump truck drivers and finish crews
• • Enforce and follow safety procedures on site, participate in toolbox talks, and maintain a clean, organized work area

What we're looking for

• • Proven experience operating scrapers and heavy civil equipment (scraper, grader, loader, dump truck) on construction sites
• • Ability to read basic site plans, grade stakes, and follow verbal layout instructions from supervisors
• • Hands-on mechanical skills for routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• • Strong safety mindset with ability to enforce and follow site safety procedures
• • Reliable attendance, ability to work outdoors in variable weather, and willingness to work extended hours or overtime as project needs dictate

Qualifications

• • Valid driver’s license; CDL Class A preferred
• • OSHA 10-hour (or 30-hour) safety card preferred
• • Equipment operator certification or documented operator experience
• • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• • High school diploma or equivalent; English proficiency required, Spanish a plus
