Scrapper Civil Operator

About This Role

Join a field crew in Lebanon, IN as a Scrapper Civil Operator focused on earthmoving, mass grading, and civil site prep. You will run scrapers and related heavy equipment to move earth and materials, set grades, and prepare large-scale civil sites to spec. This is hands-on work — inspect and maintain your machine, follow safety and project plans, and work closely with site supervisors and other operators to keep projects on schedule. Hourly pay is based on experience; opportunities for overtime and training are available.

What You'll Do

• • Operate scrapers and other heavy equipment (graders, loaders, dozers) for earthmoving and mass grading
• • Follow site plans and project specifications to set and maintain required grades
• • Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and report mechanical issues
• • Load and unload material, coordinate with haul trucks, and position machinery for efficient workflow
• • Follow safety procedures, enforce PPE use, and work with supervisors to address hazards
• • Communicate with crews and foremen to sequence work and meet project milestones

What We're Looking For

• • Proven experience operating scrapers, graders, loaders, or similar heavy equipment on civil projects
• • Hands-on knowledge of mass grading, site layout, and earthmoving techniques
• • Ability to perform basic heavy equipment maintenance and pre-shift inspections
• • Strong focus on safety and ability to follow project specifications and directions
• • Comfort working outdoors on large sites, including in variable weather and overtime situations

Qualifications

• • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
• • Heavy equipment operator certification preferred (NCCER, CET, or equivalent)
• • OSHA 10-hour (or 30-hour) or equivalent safety training preferred
• • Ability to pass drug screen and background check
• • English proficiency for safety communication; other languages a plus
