Excavator Operator

About This Role

Excavator operators needed for earthmoving and site work across Indiana and Ohio. Work will include residential, commercial, and civil construction sites; travel between job sites in IN and OH is required. OSHA 10 certification is mandatory — safety is the top priority on every project. You’ll operate excavators for grading, trenching, and site prep while coordinating with site supervisors and crew members. Candidates should be practical, safety-conscious, and able to perform basic equipment checks and light maintenance as needed.

What You'll Do

• • Operate excavators for digging, grading, trenching, and site preparation on residential, commercial, and civil jobs
• • Follow site safety plans and OSHA standards; stop work and report hazards immediately
• • Perform pre-operation inspections, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting on equipment
• • Load/unload materials, assist in setting grades and stakes, and spot for other equipment when required
• • Work with site supervisors and crew to follow daily plans, maintain schedule, and keep the site tidy

What We're Looking For

• • Proven experience operating excavators on construction sites
• • OSHA 10 certification (required)
• • Knowledge of general heavy equipment maintenance and safe operating procedures
• • Able to read basic site plans, grade stakes, and follow supervisor directions
• • Reliable transportation to job sites across Indiana and Ohio and ability to travel as assigned

Qualifications

• • OSHA 10 certification (required)
• • Minimum 2 years excavator/operator experience preferred
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• • Ability to pass drug screen and background check
• • Basic English communication for crew and safety instructions
