Motor Grader Operator

About This Role

Experienced motor grader operator needed in Gail, TX to run GPS-equipped graders for roadwork and site grading. You’ll use machine control systems to produce accurate grades, work around other heavy equipment, and keep projects on schedule. Pay up to $36/hr depending on experience. This role is hands-on: you’ll perform precise grading, do basic upkeep and inspections, and communicate with crew leads and equipment operators. NCCER and OSHA 10/30 certifications are required; strong GPS machine control and fine-grading experience are a must.

What You'll Do

• • Operate motor grader with GPS machine control for road construction and site grading
• • Perform fine grading to specified elevations and slopes using machine control systems
• • Read plans, grade stakes, and basic survey marks to verify grades
• • Work safely around other heavy equipment and crew members; follow site safety procedures
• • Conduct daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and report defects
• • Coordinate with foremen and spotters to keep work accurate and on schedule

What We're Looking For

• • Proven experience operating motor graders and performing fine grading
• • Experience with GPS machine control systems on graders
• • Knowledge of land surveying basics and reading grade stakes/plans
• • General heavy-equipment maintenance experience and ability to perform inspections
• • Experience in civil construction job sites and working around other equipment
• • Reliable, punctual, able to lift and climb on equipment; valid driver’s license

Qualifications

• • NCCER certification
• • OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications
• • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent field experience)
• • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
