Grading Foreman — Heavy Equipment Operator
About This Role
Heavy Equipment Grading Foreman needed in Spartanburg, SC. Lead crews on municipal, industrial, and commercial heavy civil projects, overseeing site prep, earthwork, and production. Pay up to $50/hr depending on experience. You’ll run day-to-day grading operations, read plans, enforce OSHA safety standards, and keep projects on schedule. What You'll Do
- • Supervise operators and laborers performing clearing, excavation, rough and fine grading, and soil stabilization
- • Read and implement construction plans, grade stakes, and civil drawings to ensure accurate elevations and finish grades
- • Organize daily production schedules, track progress, and adjust crew assignments to meet milestones
- • Monitor and enforce OSHA-compliant safety procedures and jobsite housekeeping
- • Coordinate crew mobilization to multiple project sites and maintain clear communication with project managers and stakeholders
- • Perform quality control checks and address issues to meet project specifications
What We're Looking For
- • 3+ years as a foreman on heavy civil grading projects
- • Proven ability to lead and coordinate crews of operators and laborers
- • Proficiency reading and interpreting construction plans and civil drawings
- • Experience overseeing and/or operating dozers, graders, excavators, loaders, skid steers, and dump trucks
- • Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and jobsite safety enforcement
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site mobilization
Qualifications
- • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
- • Operator certifications for grader, dozer, excavator, or loader (if available)
- • CDL Class A preferred but not required
- • First Aid / CPR preferred
- • High school diploma or GED
- • English proficiency required; bilingual (Spanish) a plus
