Heavy Equipment Operator — Komatsu Machine Control

About This Role

Join crews nationwide operating Komatsu-equipped earthmoving machines with integrated machine control. This role is for experienced heavy equipment operators who are comfortable running GPS-guided or automated controls and reading digital grade data on site. You will work closely with site supervisors and survey/layout teams to hit grades safely and efficiently. Assignments vary by region — expect travel, steady work, and opportunities for overtime and training on machine-control systems.

What You'll Do

  • Operate Komatsu dozers, excavators, graders, loaders and other earthmoving equipment with integrated machine control
  • Load, verify and follow digital grade files; read and act on on-screen grade and control information
  • Work with site survey/layout teams to set grades, confirm offsets and resolve discrepancies
  • Perform daily machine inspections, routine maintenance checks and basic troubleshooting of machine-control hardware
  • Maintain safe, compliant operation on job sites and follow site-specific safety plans
  • Communicate progress and issues clearly with foremen and layout personnel to keep projects on schedule

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years operating heavy equipment in civil or industrial construction; proven experience on dozers, excavators, graders and loaders
  • Hands-on experience with Komatsu machine control systems or similar GPS-guided/automated controls
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, site layouts and digital grade information
  • Comfortable coordinating with survey teams and following layout plans accurately
  • Willingness to travel for assignments and work varied shifts; reliable transportation to mobilization points
  • Strong focus on safety, punctuality, and teamwork in field conditions

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • OSHA 10-hour (minimum) preferred; OSHA 30 a plus
  • Equipment operator certifications (NCCER or equivalent) preferred
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Physically able to handle field work, climb on machines and work outdoors in all weather
  • Fluent English for safety communication; additional languages a plus
