Heavy Equipment Foreman

About This Role

Foreman needed in Los Lunas, NM to run day-to-day heavy equipment rental operations on civil construction jobs. You’ll supervise equipment use, schedule maintenance, coordinate with rental vendors and keep crews productive and safe on site. This is a hands-on foreman role — you’ll operate equipment as needed, train crew members, enforce safety rules, and communicate with project managers to meet schedule and budget targets. What You'll Do

• • Supervise and coordinate daily heavy equipment operations and crew assignments on-site
• • Operate equipment as needed (loader, dozer, excavator, skid steer, dump truck) and train operators
• • Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs for rented machinery
• • Enforce safety policies and conduct toolbox talks, jobsite hazard assessments, and incident reporting
• • Communicate with rental vendors, subcontractors, and project managers to track equipment availability and costs

What We're Looking For

• • 3+ years experience as an equipment operator with at least 1+ year in a foreman/supervisory role
• • Hands-on experience operating loader, dozer, excavator, skid steer, and dump truck
• • Strong mechanical skills: hydraulic, diesel engine, powertrain and transmission maintenance knowledge
• • Experience developing work schedules, training staff, and managing crew performance
• • Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to coordinate with vendors and project teams
• • Proven track record enforcing safety procedures and maintaining clean, organized sites

Qualifications

• • Valid driver’s license; CDL Class A preferred
• • OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 (preferred)
• • First Aid/CPR certification preferred
• • Equipment operator certifications or documented seat time on major machines
• • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
