Heavy Equipment Operator

About This Role

Experienced dozer and excavator operators needed for heavy civil and site grading projects in Spartanburg, SC. You’ll run dozers and/or excavators on roadwork, site development, and underground utility jobs—working outdoors on commercial and municipal projects. This is hands-on work: operate equipment safely and efficiently, perform daily maintenance, help with manual labor when needed, and follow directions from the site foreman. Candidates should have solid dozer/excavator experience, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

What You'll Do

• • Operate dozers and/or excavators on heavy civil and site grading projects according to site plans
• • Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance (fluid checks, greasing, track/undercarriage care)
• • Assist the crew with manual labor tasks—grading, trenching support, loading/unloading materials
• • Follow directions from the site foreman and maintain clear communication with crew
• • Comply with all site safety rules and participate in toolbox talks and required safety programs

What We're Looking For

• • Minimum 2 years operating dozers and/or excavators on heavy civil or site work projects
• • Proven ability to perform basic heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshoot common issues
• • Comfortable performing manual labor and assisting other trades on site
• • Read and follow grade stakes, basic site plans, and foreman instructions
• • Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check and drug screen

Qualifications

• • OSHA 10-hour Construction card preferred
• • DOT medical card/CDL A if required by project (preferred)
• • Prior heavy civil construction experience (site grading, utilities, concrete)
• • Basic diesel/heavy-equipment maintenance knowledge
• • Able to read and speak English to follow safety instructions and job directions
