What you'll do
- • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report damage or maintenance needs immediately to shop.
- • Drive tanker/tack truck to job sites and maintain proper water levels and tanker operations during paving activities.
- • Apply spray bituminous tack-coat while working alongside paving crews; coordinate placement and timing with crew leads.
- • Maintain accurate truck logs and records in accordance with state and federal regulations (FMCSA hours-of-service).
- • Communicate site conditions, traffic issues, route restrictions, low-clearance bridges, and any safety hazards to supervisors.
- • Keep vehicle clean, perform basic maintenance checks, and follow the truck maintenance and cleanliness guidelines in the driver handbook.
What we're looking for
- • Valid CDL Class B or Class A with tanker endorsement preferred; experience operating tank vehicles required.
- • Experience driving in paving operations or on construction sites (tack truck, asphalt, or paving experience preferred).
- • Knowledge of FMCSA log rules, ability to maintain accurate truck logs and complete pre/post-trip inspections.
- • Comfort operating manual and automatic transmissions, driving in steep or rough terrain, and hauling heavy loads.
- • Reliable communication with crew leads and the ability to report site or traffic issues quickly; able to follow site safety rules.
Qualifications
- • CDL Class B or CDL Class A
- • Tanker endorsement (N) and HazMat endorsement (H) and/or Doubles/Triples (T) as required for routes
- • Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and background check
- • Ability to read basic work orders, maps/GPS, and follow site-specific instructions
- • Fluent in English; Spanish language skills highly desired
What we offer
- • Health, dental, and vision insurance options
- • Paid time off and paid training for site procedures and equipment
- • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
- • Overtime opportunities and consistent, scheduled assignments on local/regional projects
- • Company-provided PPE, uniforms, and equipment maintenance support
