Heavy Equipment Operator (Track Hoe) — Austin, TX
About This Role
We’re hiring experienced track-hoe operators in Austin, TX for digging, grading, and site prep on commercial and municipal jobs. Work steady hours on mid-to-large size projects, run well-maintained machines, and get paid weekly. Pay ranges $25–35/hr depending on experience and certifications. You’ll work with a small crew, follow jobsite safety, and be expected to keep machines clean and logs up to date. Local routes — no long-term travel required unless specified on certain projects.
What You'll Do
- • Operate tracked excavators (track hoe) for trenching, excavation, grading, and site cleanup
- • Load and unload trucks, place spoil, and move material to grade per site plans
- • Perform pre- and post-shift equipment inspections; report defects and complete daily logs
- • Work with spotters/crew to set grade, protect utilities, and follow site safety plans
- • Maintain machine cleanliness and basic on-site maintenance (lubrication, fluid checks)
- • Follow directions from foreman/lead and coordinate with truck drivers and ground crew
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 2 years operating tracked excavators/track hoes on construction sites
- • Able to read grade stakes and basic site plans; perform precise digging to grade
- • Physical stamina for long shifts outdoors in all weather; able to climb in/out of cabs
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to jobsite; clean driving record preferred
- • Willingness to submit to background check and drug screen; punctual and reliable
Qualifications
- • OSHA-10 (preferred) or OSHA-30
- • Heavy equipment operator certification or trade school completion preferred
- • CDL Class A or B a plus (not required for all roles)
- • Ability to pass DOT drug screening and background check
- • Bilingual English/Spanish helpful but not required
