Blade / Motor Grader Operator

About This Role

We’re hiring experienced Blade / Motor Grader Operators for grading and paving support in the Plainview, TX area. This is hands-on heavy equipment work on West Texas projects with steady shifts and competitive hourly pay. Pay is $28–$32/hour with full benefits (health, dental, vision). If you travel 60+ miles to job sites you may qualify for $830/week per diem. Immediate start dates available — we need operators who can get to work and run a motor grader right away.

What You'll Do

• • Operate motor graders and blades for road grading, site prep, and paving base work according to grade stakes and plans
• • Perform pre-start and daily inspections; complete routine maintenance and basic adjustments to keep equipment working
• • Read and interpret grade plans, cut/fill stakes, and elevations to achieve specified tolerances
• • Coordinate with foremen, survey crews, and paving crews to sequence work and meet schedule
• • Report equipment issues promptly and document work progress and quantities as required
• • Follow all safety procedures, flagging, and site-specific rules while working around crews and traffic

What We're Looking For

• • Proven experience operating motor graders/blade equipment on civil or paving projects
• • Ability to read site drawings, grade stakes, and basic plan elevations
• • General heavy equipment maintenance skills — perform pre-shift checks and minor repairs
• • Experience in civil construction and paving operations
• • Reliable, able to report to Plainview-area sites and available for immediate start
• • Comfortable working outdoors in variable West Texas conditions

Qualifications

• • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• • Able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen
• • 3+ years operating motor graders or equivalent experience (preferred)
• • NCCER or heavy equipment operator certification preferred; on-the-job experience accepted
• • Basic English required; Spanish language skills a plus
