Commercial HVAC Technician (II-III)
About This Role
Full-time commercial HVAC Technicians needed in Phoenix, AZ to diagnose, repair, and operate a wide range of commercial HVAC systems on construction and service projects. You’ll work on RTUs, chillers, boilers, hydronic systems and DX circuits, handle startups and emergency response, and keep jobs running safely and on schedule. This role requires a strong safety focus, solid troubleshooting and controls experience, and the ability to mentor apprentices while delivering great client service. Expect hands-on work, occasional overtime, and opportunities for training and advancement.
What You'll Do
- • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC equipment (RTUs, chillers, boilers, AHUs, MAUs, VAVs, pumps, fans, cooling towers and hydronic systems).
- • Perform equipment startups, commissioning support, emergency repairs and after-hours response as needed.
- • Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs and technical schematics to plan and execute work safely and efficiently.
- • Follow lockout/tag-out and established safety procedures; maintain tools, testing devices and service equipment.
- • Complete service documentation, maintenance logs and job reports; communicate status to supervisors and clients.
- • Mentor and direct apprentices on-site and collaborate with the trade team under general supervision.
What We're Looking For
- • 5+ years of technical training or equivalent hands-on commercial HVAC experience.
- • Strong troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical and control systems (controls programming, starters, relays, motors, fuses).
- • Experience with chillers, boilers, hydronic systems, DX circuits, RTUs, AHUs and commercial refrigeration components.
- • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer manuals and apply them to field repairs.
- • Comfort working at heights, in confined spaces and outdoors in Phoenix weather; able to lift and carry tools/equipment.
- • Available for full-time schedule with potential overtime and emergency response when required.
Qualifications
- • EPA 608 Universal (Type I/II/III) certification required
- • Journeyman HVAC license preferred
- • 5+ years relevant technical training or equivalent commercial HVAC experience
- • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- • English required; bilingual English/Spanish a plus
