Commercial HVAC Technician II/III
About this role
Full-time commercial HVAC technicians needed in Phoenix, AZ to service and maintain commercial HVAC systems on active projects. You will diagnose and repair equipment like RTUs, chillers, boilers and hydronic systems, perform startups and emergency response, and keep job sites safe and running. This role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, solid electrical and controls skills, and the ability to mentor apprentices while delivering dependable service for clients. What you'll do
- • Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC equipment and components (RTUs, chillers, boilers, AHUs, MAUs, hydronic systems, DX circuits).
- • Perform equipment startups, commissioning tasks, preventive maintenance, refrigerant recovery, and leak detection.
- • Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and mechanical issues; test components and replace parts as needed.
- • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to complete work efficiently and safely.
- • Maintain tools and jobsite equipment, complete work orders and service documentation, and follow lockout/tag-out and site safety procedures.
- • Mentor and direct apprentices on daily tasks, share best practices, and coordinate with other trades and supervisors.
What we're looking for
- • 5+ years technical training or equivalent commercial HVAC field experience.
- • Proven troubleshooting skills with electrical systems, control circuits, compressors, pumps, and gas valves.
- • Hands-on experience with chillers, boilers, RTUs, AHUs, VAV systems, hydronic systems, and building automation controls.
- • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals and translate them into field work.
- • Commitment to following lockout/tag-out and jobsite safety procedures and responding to emergency service calls.
- • Journeyman license preferred and experience mentoring apprentices.

- • EPA 608 Type I certified
- • EPA 608 Type II certified
- • EPA 608 Type III certified
- • EPA 608 Universal certification
- • Journeyman HVAC license (preferred)
- • Technical training certificate or equivalent (5+ years commercial HVAC experience)
