Commercial HVAC Technician II-III
About This Role
Full-time commercial HVAC Technicians needed in Phoenix to install, start up, diagnose and repair a wide range of commercial HVAC systems on active projects. You’ll work on RTUs, chillers, boilers, hydronic systems, DX circuits and refrigeration equipment, respond to emergencies and perform equipment startups while following strict safety procedures. We want technicians who put safety first, know commercial controls and electrical systems, and can mentor apprentices on the job. You’ll work under general supervision as part of a crew, keep tools and documentation organized, and help deliver strong client service every day.
What You'll Do
- • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC equipment (RTUs, chillers, boilers, AHUs, MAUs, hydronic systems, DX circuits, controls).
- • Perform equipment startups, routine and emergency repairs, and refrigeration work including recovery and charging.
- • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and technical specs to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
- • Follow lockout/tag-out and jobsite safety procedures; maintain tools, test equipment and documentation.
- • Mentor and direct apprentices on tasks and safe work methods while coordinating with the team and supervisor.
- • Respond to on-site emergency calls and perform timely repairs to restore systems.
What We're Looking For
- • 5+ years technical training or equivalent commercial HVAC field experience.
- • Hands-on experience with RTUs, chillers, boilers, hydronic systems, DX circuits, pumps, fans and controls.
- • Strong electrical and controls troubleshooting skills, including motor and control circuit work.
- • Able to read and act on blueprints, schematics and technical documents.
- • Committed to safety: lockout/tag-out, proper PPE use and following jobsite safety procedures.
- • Proven ability to mentor apprentices and work as part of a crew under general supervision.
Qualifications
- • EPA 608 Type I, Type II, Type III or Universal certification
- • Journeyman HVAC license preferred
- • 5+ years commercial HVAC experience or equivalent technical training
- • Proficient reading blueprints and electrical schematics
- • Working knowledge of lockout/tag-out and jobsite safety procedures
