HVAC Service Technician

About This Role

Join our team as an HVAC Service Technician in Orlando, FL. Pay is $18–$45/hr depending on experience. You will install, maintain, diagnose, and repair residential and commercial HVAC systems, handle refrigerant work, and perform start-ups and testing. This role is hands-on: you’ll troubleshoot equipment, perform sheet metal work, install controls and air quality devices, and interact directly with customers on site. If you know compressors, chillers, brazing/soldering, and can read HVAC drawings, we want to hear from you. Reliable transportation and a commitment to good customer service are required.

What You'll Do

  • Install, start up, test and commission HVAC equipment (split systems, heat pumps, rooftop units, chillers, compressors)
  • Diagnose and repair refrigeration and air conditioning issues; perform refrigerant leak detection, recovery and charging
  • Fabricate and install sheet metal ductwork and insulation; install fans, blowers and airside components
  • Perform HVAC control wiring, motor maintenance, and system troubleshooting using electrical schematics
  • Complete service reports, parts orders, and communicate clearly with customers about work performed and recommendations
  • Follow safety procedures on job sites and assist with job cleanup and basic site supervision when needed

What We're Looking For

  • Proven hands-on experience with general commercial/residential HVAC installation, repair and service
  • Refrigerant handling: leak detection, recovery, charging and EPA-compliant practices
  • Soldering/brazing, metering device setup, and sheet metal fabrication/installation skills
  • Experience with compressors, chillers, commercial airside systems and HVAC start-up/testing
  • Ability to read HVAC drawings, wiring diagrams and trouble-shoot control circuits and motors
  • Strong customer service, reliable attendance, valid driver’s license and dependable tools/transportation

Qualifications

  • EPA 608 certification for refrigerant handling
  • Completed HVAC trade school or equivalent on-the-job experience
  • NATE, manufacturer or chiller-specific certifications preferred
  • OSHA 10 (or higher) recommended
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
