Lead Insulation Specialist

Austin, TX $20-$27/hr

About this role

We’re hiring a Lead Insulation Specialist based in Austin, TX to run insulation operations and drive growth for our regional service area. This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll manage field crews, set standards for quality and safety, support bidding and budgeting, and build client and vendor relationships. You must be comfortable on job sites, able to climb ladders and access attics/crawlspaces, and ready to travel between projects (including work in the Houston area). This role balances field leadership with planning—expect office time for estimating, budgets, and coordination plus regular site visits to supervise work and coach crews.

What you'll do

  • Lead day-to-day insulation operations across projects; assign crews, set schedules, and monitor progress.
  • Enforce safety and quality standards on every jobsite; conduct site inspections and toolbox talks.
  • Coach and develop insulation staff and supervisors; set performance expectations and follow up.
  • Work with sales/estimating and operations to support bids, pricing, and contract scope.
  • Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships; oversee local equipment purchases and materials.
  • Create and maintain budgets, forecasts, and job-level cost controls to protect profitability.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years’ experience in construction or insulation-related operations, including field leadership.
  • Strong working knowledge of insulation materials and methods (spray foam, fiberglass, cellulose, etc.).
  • Able to read and interpret basic blueprints, specs, and work scopes.
  • Clear communicator with negotiation and client-facing skills; able to lead crews and interact with customers.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to job sites (including Houston-area work).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and common CRM or estimating tools; able to produce reports and track budgets.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 (preferred).
  • Spray-foam applicator certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Able to pass background check and drug screen.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Spanish bilingual skills a plus.

What we offer

  • Health benefit options (medical, dental, vision) available.
  • 401(k) retirement plan enrollment.
  • Paid time off and holiday pay.
  • Paid training and certification support to keep skills current.
  • Mileage or travel reimbursement when traveling to jobs; vehicle assignment possible for some roles.
