Ironworker Foreman

About This Role

Ironworker Foreman needed in Greenville, MS to lead structural and ornamental ironwork on commercial and residential projects. You’ll run crews on site, set and install steel, read drawings, and make sure the work meets code and quality standards. This is a hands-on foreman role — strong field leadership, solid ironworking skills, and clear communication with team members and other trades are required. You’ll enforce safety, coordinate lifts and rigging, and keep projects moving on schedule. Competitive pay and benefits offered; pay DOE based on experience.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise and coordinate ironworker crews on site, set daily tasks and enforce productivity targets
  • Oversee layout, rigging, hoisting, lifting and setting of structural and ornamental steel
  • Read and interpret drawings, shop drawings and plans; verify layout and measurements on site
  • Inspect completed work for quality, correct fit, welds and alignment; ensure compliance with building codes
  • Enforce safety procedures, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure PPE and rigging standards are followed
  • Coordinate with superintendents, trades and field engineers; document progress and report issues to project management

What We're Looking For

  • Proven field leadership and crew management on structural or ornamental ironwork projects
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and site layout plans
  • Rigging, hoisting and lift experience; ability to rig and set rebar cages and steel safely
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for crew direction and cross-trade coordination
  • Working knowledge of building codes, quality inspection and site safety procedures
  • Comfortable using construction management software or mobile reporting tools on site

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; construction trade school or apprenticeship a plus
  • OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 preferred
  • Rigging ticket or certified rigger preferred; NCCER or ironworker certification a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
  • Able to read plans in English and communicate clearly with crews and other trades
