Ironworker (Structural)

About This Role

Ironworker needed in Mansfield, OH to erect and install structural and miscellaneous steel for buildings and amusement structures. This is hands-on work: unloading and organizing steel, laying out frames, setting and aligning columns/beams, welding or bolting connections, and installing metal deck, stairs, railings and grating. You’ll work with cranes and rigging, provide proper signaling to equipment operators, and follow site layouts and blueprints to meet job tolerances. Safety is required—expect to follow company safety policies, use fall protection, and work at heights and in varied weather conditions.

What You'll Do

• • Unload, shake out, sort and organize steel materials on site
• • Lay out and erect structural columns, beams, bar joists, stairs, catwalks and support members
• • Install metal roof and floor deck, hollow-core plank, edge angles, bent plates, ladders, railings and grating
• • Weld and bolt structural connections (including moment connections) and align members for permanent installation
• • Provide crane and equipment signaling, rigging, and coordinate lifts with operators
• • Cut and weld steel using torches and welding equipment; install bridging, hangers, kicker braces and miscellaneous steel as specified

What We're Looking For

• • Proven experience erecting structural and miscellaneous steel on commercial or amusement projects
• • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and site layouts
• • Skilled in welding (fit-up and welding of structural connections) and bolting per detail
• • Experience with rigging, crane signaling and setting/grouting precast hollow-core plank
• • Comfortable working at heights, lifting heavy materials, and performing physically demanding tasks
• • Follow all safety procedures, use fall protection and PPE, and pass site-required drug screen

Qualifications

• • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
• • Certified welder or ability to pass employer weld test (SMAW/GMAW common)
• • Rigging and crane signaling certification preferred
• • NCCER or trade school credential a plus
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• • Ability to pass background and drug screening
