Ironworker

About this role

Local opportunity for a skilled ironworker in Mansfield, OH to erect and install structural and miscellaneous steel for buildings and amusement structures. Work includes unloading and organizing steel, laying out frames, welding and bolting connections, and installing stairs, catwalks, deck and railing systems. This is hands-on, on-site work that requires reliable attendance, the ability to work at heights, and strict adherence to safety procedures. We want crew-oriented tradespeople who can read drawings, rig and signal equipment, and complete installations to job-specific tolerances.

What you'll do

• • Unload, shake out, sort and organize steel materials on site
• • Lay out and erect steel columns, beams, bar joists, stairs and catwalks
• • Install metal roof/floor deck, hollow-core plank, edge angle and bent plate
• • Weld and bolt structural connections, including moment connections, per details
• • Install ladders, railings, grating, cable-rail fall protection and bridging
• • Provide crane/equipment signaling and perform rigging while following site safety policies

What we're looking for

• • Proven experience erecting structural and miscellaneous steel
• • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• • Skilled in welding, bolting, cutting and grinding of steel components
• • Competent in rigging and crane signaling; comfortable setting and grouting hollow-core plank
• • Physically fit, able to work at heights, and committed to following safety procedures

Qualifications

• • OSHA 10-hour construction card (preferred)
• • Crane signaling or rigging certification/experience
• • Welding certification (AWS or equivalent) preferred
• • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a drug screen
• • Proficiency reading technical drawings and using layout tools
• • English sufficient to follow instructions and safety briefings
