Pipefitter Foreman
About This Role
Lead and supervise pipefitting crews on industrial construction projects nationwide. You will oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems, interpret blueprints and specs, and coordinate daily with project management and other trades to keep work on schedule and to spec. This role is hands-on: you'll direct crews in the field, enforce safety and quality standards, mentor apprentices, handle inspections and permits, and step in to troubleshoot complex piping and valve systems. Competitive pay based on experience; travel and per diem may be required depending on assignment.
What You'll Do
- • Supervise and direct pipefitting crews on-site: assign tasks, set daily priorities, and monitor productivity
- • Interpret blueprints, piping isometrics, and project specifications to ensure correct installation
- • Oversee installation, alignment, and testing of steel and plastic piping, valves, and supports
- • Enforce safety procedures and quality standards; conduct pre-job safety briefings and jobsite inspections
- • Coordinate with project management, other trades, subcontractors, and inspectors to resolve conflicts and keep schedule
- • Mentor and train pipefitters and apprentices; perform work inspections and address workmanship issues
What We're Looking For
- • Proven ability to read and interpret drawings, isometrics, and project specifications
- • Hands-on experience installing steel and plastic piping systems and valves
- • Strong leadership and team-management skills with prior foreman or supervisory experience
- • Working knowledge of building codes, piping standards, and inspection procedures
- • Troubleshooting skills for piping systems and valves; able to lead corrective work and testing
- • Ability to enforce safety procedures, coordinate permits/inspections, and track project performance
Qualifications
- • Journeyman card or equivalent trade certification preferred
- • 5+ years pipefitting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory/foreman role
- • OSHA 10 or 30 certification required; safety tickets current
- • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites nationwide
- • Welding certifications (SMAW/GMAW) and pipe welding experience preferred
- • Ability to pass drug screening and background check as required by project
