Industrial Pipe Fitter
About This Role
Join a hands-on industrial piping crew in Clarksville, TN installing, fabricating, maintaining and repairing piping systems in plants and construction projects. This role is heavy on layout, precise measurement and safe installation — you’ll work from isometrics, blueprints and P&IDs to build and maintain process, steam, chilled water and utility piping. Typical work includes field layout, cutting, fit-up and assembly of carbon steel, stainless and other pipe types, assisting with hydrostatic/pneumatic testing, troubleshooting system problems and documenting quality. Expect to work with other trades, follow site safety rules, and support turnarounds and shutdowns as required.
What You'll Do
- • Read and interpret isometric drawings, blueprints, P&IDs and project specs for daily work.
- • Lay out, measure, cut, bevel, thread, groove, fit and install piping, valves, flanges and supports.
- • Perform alignment and fit-up for welding; assist with hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing.
- • Troubleshoot, repair and replace damaged piping components; perform preventive maintenance.
- • Follow OSHA and site safety procedures, complete JSAs/pre-task planning and document work quality.
- • Coordinate with welders, electricians, millwrights and operators; report progress and material needs.
What We're Looking For
- • 3+ years industrial pipefitting or related piping experience in construction, plant or power settings.
- • Able to read and interpret isometrics, blueprints, P&IDs and take precise field measurements.
- • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, layout instruments and pipe fabrication equipment.
- • Experience with carbon steel, stainless, copper, PVC/HDPE and common industrial fittings and valves.
- • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, work in confined spaces, climb, bend and stand for long periods.
- • Strong safety mindset and ability to follow site-specific safety rules and PPE requirements.
Qualifications
- • NCCER Pipefitter certification (preferred)
- • OSHA 30-Hour Construction (preferred) or OSHA 10 accepted
- • CPR and First Aid certification
- • Forklift operator and aerial lift certifications preferred
- • Confined Space Entry training and rigging/signal person certifications a plus
- • Fluent in English (reading job documents and safety instructions)
