The position includes training others on pipe-laying techniques and other general construction tasks as needed. Competitive pay based on experience and a full benefits package are offered.
What You'll Do
- • Install sanitary and storm sewer structures and underground pipe systems per plans and tolerances.
- • Lay out pipe routes from blueprints, set grades, cut pipe to length, align and connect sections using lasers/levels and hand tools.
- • Check slopes and elevations for conformance using transit/laser/level; prepare and grade trench bases.
- • Seal or weld joints, drill/tap pipe as required, and secure pipe prior to backfill.
- • Backfill, compact, and cover installed pipe; perform trench stabilization and bedding work.
- • Train and mentor less-experienced crew members and perform general construction labor as directed.
What We're Looking For
- • 5+ years of underground pipe-laying experience on large construction sites.
- • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and site layout plans.
- • Proficiency with levels, lasers, transit, measuring and cutting pipe, and trench bedding/stabilization.
- • Experience with excavation/trench work, backfilling, and compacting to grade.
- • Strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and ability to work safely around heavy equipment.
- • Good communication and teamwork skills; able to train others and follow supervisor directions.
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- • OSHA 10-hour (or higher) preferred; confined space and trench-safety training a plus.
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job site.
- • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- • Proven experience with sewer/steel/civil pipe installation and pipe testing.
- • Basic math skills and English-language comprehension for reading plans and safety directions.
What We Offer
- • Paid Time Off and 7 paid holidays.
