Journeyman Plumber — Commercial (Mesa, AZ)

Mesa, AZ

About This Role

Install, test, and commission commercial plumbing systems across Mesa projects. You’ll work with waste/vent, domestic water, storm, gas, compressed air, condensate drains, fixtures and pumps using a variety of materials. Expect hands-on installation, field testing to code, and maintaining accurate as-built records. You’ll mentor apprentices, help keep the crew productive and safe, and follow lockout/tagout and job-site safety procedures. Competitive pay based on experience, steady commercial work, and a $1/hr increase to base pay if you hold a plumbing license.

What You'll Do

  • Install and connect commercial plumbing systems: domestic water, DWV, storm, natural gas, compressed air, condensate drains, fixtures and pumps per plans and specs.
  • Work with multiple piping materials: carbon/steel, copper, PVC/CPVC, PEX/poly, stainless and aluminum; cut, thread, join and secure piping to code.
  • Perform rough-in, pressure and leak testing, inspect work, record results, and update as-built drawings and submittals.
  • Layout systems from drawings, coordinate with foremen and trades, identify installation conflicts and escalate issues for resolution.
  • Mentor and train apprentices on proper installation, safety (LOTO) and best practices; participate in new-partner orientation on site.
  • Maintain hand tools and equipment, use materials efficiently, and follow job-site safety plans and OSHA guidelines.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 4 years’ commercial plumbing installation experience; 5+ preferred.
  • Proven experience with copper, PVC/CPVC, cast-iron, steel and poly piping systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and perform accurate layout.
  • Knowledge of IPC/UPC codes, building code testing procedures, and ability to perform plumbing tests.
  • Must have own hand tools and reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Pass a pre-employment plumbing exam and demonstrate safe work practices (LOTO).

Qualifications

  • Journeyman plumber license preferred (Arizona) — $1/hr license premium if held.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment plumbing exam and background/drug screen as required.
  • OSHA 10 (or 30) and LOTO training preferred or willing to obtain.
  • Medical gas certification preferred but not required; refrigerant piping experience a plus.
  • English proficiency to read drawings and communicate on-site; ability to lift and handle materials safely; must have reliable transportation and own hand tools.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay based on experience; $1/hr base pay increase if licensed.
  • Overtime opportunities and steady commercial work schedule.
  • Paid safety training (LOTO/OSHA) and on-the-job mentoring for career growth.
  • Health insurance, dental, and retirement plan options (varies by employer).
  • Paid time off and holiday pay; direct deposit and consistent weekly pay.
