Journeyman Plumber
About this role
Join a busy commercial plumbing crew in Mesa, AZ. You’ll install and test plumbing systems across projects — DWV, domestic water, compressed air, gas, condensate drains, fixtures and pumps — using multiple piping materials and following code and specs. We need a hands-on tradesperson with 4+ years’ commercial plumbing experience who values safety, keeps accurate as-built records, mentors apprentices, and works closely with foremen to keep projects on schedule and compliant.
What you'll do
- • Install and assemble commercial plumbing systems per drawings and specifications: DWV, domestic water, storm, gas, condensate, compressed air, fixtures and pumps.
- • Work with multiple piping materials (copper, PVC/CPVC, steel/carbon, stainless, poly, cast iron) and apply correct joining/fitting methods.
- • Perform layout, set piping, pressure testing, inspection, and document test results to meet code and project requirements.
- • Follow lockout/tagout and site safety procedures; keep tools and equipment in serviceable condition and maintain a clean work area.
- • Provide on-site mentoring and direction to apprentices; participate in onboarding new crew members and promote a learning environment.
- • Maintain accurate as-built records and promptly report installation issues or discrepancies to foreman or superintendent.
What we're looking for
- • Minimum 4 years of commercial plumbing installation experience (multi-trade pipe systems).
- • Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, submittals and specifications; perform accurate layout.
- • Experience installing copper, PVC/CPVC, and cast-iron systems; familiarity with stainless, poly, and steel piping.
- • Able to set up and perform plumbing tests, inspect work, and record results per code.
- • Own basic hand tools and reliable transportation to the Mesa jobsite.
- • Strong safety awareness (LOTO, OSHA guidelines) and experience training or supervising apprentices.
Qualifications
- • Journeyman plumber license or equivalent trade credential preferred
- • Ability to pass a pre-employment plumbing exam
- • Medical gas/refrigerant piping certification preferred but not required
- • OSHA safety training (10-hour preferred) and understanding of lockout/tagout procedures
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- • Own a full set of basic plumbing hand tools; Spanish language skills a plus
What we offer
- • Medical, dental and vision insurance options
- • 401(k) or retirement plan enrollment
- • Paid time off and recognized holidays
- • Overtime opportunities on commercial projects
- • Tool allowance or reimbursement for trade tools
- • On-the-job training, mentorship and career advancement on large projects
