About This Role

Looking for a hands-on Mechanical Construction QC Tech to work on industrial sites in and around Baton Rouge, LA. This is a per-diem position paying $32–$44/hr. Additional QC certifications (NACE/AMPP) and hands-on piping experience in operating process plants are a strong plus.

What You'll Do

  • Perform visual weld inspections and verify weld profiles against codes and drawings on piping, tanks and structural systems.
  • Create and maintain weld maps, weld logs, inspection records and nonconformance reports using tablets or laptops.
  • Conduct field QC tasks: dimensional checks, fit-up verification, pressure test observations and tagged repairs.
  • Coordinate findings with foremen and site crews, ensure repairs meet code, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Enter confined spaces and manways, climb ladders and stairways to access welds and equipment; walk large job sites to perform routine inspections.
  • Support NDT technicians and review NDT reports; verify painter and coating prep where applicable.
