Ideal candidate has heavy equipment experience, strong crew leadership, and is comfortable working around electrical transmission lines and on steep terrain.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise and lead day-to-day field crews and subcontractors on heavy civil projects (roads, utilities, earthwork, PV farm sites).
  • Plan and coordinate daily site activities: equipment, operators, material deliveries, and crew assignments.
  • Enforce safety protocols and conduct site inspections to ensure quality, compliance, and correct work methods.
  • Operate and oversee heavy equipment operations and routine maintenance scheduling for fleet readiness.
  • Interpret civil drawings and GPS/rover layout to execute grade, paving, excavation and utility work.
  • Track time-and-materials, complete daily reports, and communicate schedule/status to project management.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years hands-on heavy civil field leadership or foreman experience on roads, utilities, earthwork or solar farm projects.
  • Proven equipment operation and oversight: dozer, excavator, grader, loader, scraper, rollers, paving and broom/screed equipment.
  • Skilled in civil drawing interpretation, GPS rover navigation, grade control and layout verification.
  • Experience with time & material tracking, work schedule development, and on-site work inspection.
  • Comfortable operating in steep terrain and in proximity to electrical transmission lines; strong safety culture.
  • Ability to train and direct crewmembers, coordinate subcontractors, and perform general heavy equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license; CDL Class A preferred for lowbed or haul duties
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card
  • First Aid / CPR and utility safety or ATSSA flagging preferred
  • Equipment operator certifications (dozer, excavator, grader, paving equipment) preferred
  • Experience with GPS rover/grade control systems
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check; reliable transportation

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay with overtime (1.5x) for qualifying hours
  • Weekly pay with direct deposit
  • Health, dental and vision options (where offered) and retirement plan options
  • Paid time off and holiday pay
  • Company-paid safety training and equipment certification opportunities
  • Travel pay / per diem for out-of-area projects and steady North Alabama work
