Civil Project Manager
About This Role
We are hiring experienced Civil Project Managers based in Columbus, OH to lead and deliver sitework and civil infrastructure projects across the Ohio–Indiana region. You’ll be in charge of scope, schedule, budget and the day-to-day coordination between field crews, subcontractors, engineers and owners. This role is hands-on: you’ll track costs and schedules, manage subs, handle permits and inspections, and make sure work is safe and built to spec. Ideal candidates have strong civil/sitework experience, good construction judgment, and the ability to communicate clearly with crews and clients.
What You'll Do
- • Lead day-to-day project coordination between field crews, subcontractors, engineers and owners
- • Manage project schedule, update look-ahead schedules, and drive on-time milestones
- • Control costs: prepare and track budgets, review job cost reports, and approve change orders
- • Ensure quality, safety, and compliance with plans, specs and local regulations on site
- • Coordinate permits, inspections and third‑party testing; resolve RFI’s and submittals
- • Monitor materials/supply chain, manage subcontractor performance, and close out projects
What We're Looking For
- • 5+ years managing civil construction or sitework projects (Ohio/Indiana region preferred)
- • Proven ability to manage scope, schedule and budget on commercial civil jobs
- • Strong blueprint and civil drawing interpretation skills
- • Clear, direct communication skills with crews, owners and engineers (verbal & written)
- • Experience with cost estimating, change orders and job cost reporting
- • Working knowledge of local/state building codes, permits and inspection processes
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or GED required; degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is a plus
- • OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 (preferred)
- • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- • Proficiency with construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project or similar)
- • Strong math and estimating skills; experience with claims management a plus
- • Willingness to travel across Ohio and Indiana and be on job sites regularly
