Quality Control Coordinator

About this role

We’re hiring a Quality Control Coordinator based near Surprise, AZ (within ~50 miles) to inspect construction components, manage quality documentation, and support the quality team separate from production. This role focuses on hands-on inspections using gauges and measuring tools, documenting results in electronic systems and paper forms, and working with production, welding, and finishing crews to resolve issues quickly. You’ll report to quality leadership, help design and implement inspection checks, and assist with cross-training and continuous improvement. Ideal candidates have at least three years of construction-related inspection experience, strong measuring and documentation skills, and a practical, safety-first approach on the shop floor.

What you'll do

  • Perform visual and tool-based inspections of components and subcomponents; record pass/fail outcomes and note nonconformances.
  • Document and track inspections using electronic apps (iPad/phone/computer) and paper forms; create, control, and upload quality documents.
  • Work with quality lead, area leads, weld technicians, and finishing crews to report, investigate, and resolve quality issues.
  • Read and interpret production/finish details, spool sheets, and inspection/test plans; help design and implement quality checks.
  • Assist with training new and existing employees on inspection methods, documentation, and safety practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and actively promote a safe working environment on the shop floor.

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years construction industry experience with hands-on inspection or QC roles.
  • Proven ability to read drawings, spool sheets, and production/finish details.
  • Skilled with measuring tools: tape measure, calipers, micrometers, gauges, multimeter, etc.
  • Comfortable using electronic devices and apps (iPad/phone/computer) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication; can document findings clearly and work with multiple teams.
  • Able to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift as required for hands-on inspections.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 (preferred; include if held)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Minimum 3 years construction inspection or QC experience
  • Proficient with measuring devices and basic electrical test equipment
  • Comfortable using iPads/phones and MS Office for documentation
  • English required; Spanish or other language skills a plus
