QA / QC Manager - Quality Control Coordinator
About this role
Join a busy plant in Surprise, AZ as a hands-on QA/QC Manager (Quality Control Coordinator). You will work directly with the quality lead inspector, production crews, weld technicians, and finishing teams to find and fix quality issues so products meet specifications and move through production on schedule. Day-to-day you will perform and record inspections (both electronic and paper), read production and finish details, design practical quality checks with measuring tools, manage document flow, and help train and support QC inspectors across shop areas. This is an on-site role in a fast-paced industrial environment where safety, clean work areas, and teamwork matter.
What you'll do
- • Work with the quality lead inspector and area leads to identify, document, and resolve quality issues across production and finish areas.
- • Perform, record, and track quality inspections using electronic reporting apps and paper forms; maintain and upload inspection records.
- • Read and interpret production/finish details and spool sheets; set up and perform quality checks using tape, micrometers, calipers, multimeter, and other tools.
- • Help design and implement practical inspection checklists and measurement routines to support production flow.
- • Support training and cross-training of new and existing employees and assist QC inspectors in multiple shop areas, including the Finish Shop.
- • Maintain an organized, safe work area and actively promote site safety and quality improvements.
What we're looking for
- • 3+ years construction or industrial plant experience with hands-on inspection or quality work.
- • Strong verbal and written communication; able to report issues clearly to production and inspection teams.
- • Comfortable reading drawings, production details, and spool sheets; able to apply building codes and regulations when inspecting.
- • Proficient with measuring tools (tape, micrometer, calipers, multimeter) and with tablets/phones for electronic reporting.
- • Familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and construction/inspection software.
- • Able to meet physical demands: walking, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and lifting; reliable transportation to site.
Qualifications
- • OSHA 30 certification
- • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- • Minimum 3 years construction/industrial inspection experience
- • Proficient English reading and writing for reports and documentation
- • Comfortable using iPhone/iPad or similar devices for electronic reporting
