QA / QC Manager

About This Role

Bring your inspection skills to a fast-paced plant in Surprise, AZ. You’ll work with inspectors, production, welding (including robotic weld cells), and finishing crews to keep product quality high and production flowing. This role focuses on hands-on inspections, documentation, training, and continuous improvement in an industrial construction environment. You’ll use electronic apps and paper forms to document work, read spool sheets and finish details, set up measurement checks, and help train others. The job requires a practical, can-do attitude, strong communication, and the ability to meet physical demands on the plant floor.

What You'll Do

  • Work with the lead quality inspector and area leads to identify, report, and resolve quality issues across production, welding, and finishing areas.
  • Perform, document, and track inspections using electronic reporting apps and paper forms; follow up on nonconformances until closed.
  • Read and interpret production/finish details, spool sheets and drawings; create and implement quality checks using measuring tools (tape, mic, calipers, multimeter).
  • Manage quality documentation flow: create, distribute, upload, and maintain digital and hard-copy records; support document control and review.
  • Train and support new and existing employees and assist QC inspectors across areas (including cross-training in the Finish Shop).
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area; actively promote safe work practices and meet physical demands (walking, climbing, lifting).

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years construction industry experience with plant or shop quality/inspection work.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, spool sheets and building code requirements; experience performing inspections and root-cause checks.
  • Proficient using measuring tools (tape, micrometer, calipers, multimeter) and electronic devices (iPhone/iPad); comfortable with construction management software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to work across teams, document findings clearly, and resolve complex issues.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; OSHA 30 required or preferred depending on posting; willingness to learn and cross-train.

  • Proficient in English (verbal and written) and comfortable using iOS devices and Microsoft Office
