Rodbuster (Rebar Installer)
About this role
Join a hands-on crew in Tampa, FL working on bridge and highway concrete projects across Florida. As a rodbuster you'll tie and set rebar for footings, columns, decks, approach slabs and barrier walls while working under a foreman to meet project schedules and quality standards. This role is outdoor, physical, and team-oriented. You will receive site-specific safety training and opportunities to develop craft skills and certifications while helping keep projects on time and safe every day.
What you'll do
- • Tie and place reinforcing steel in bridge footings, columns, decks, approach slabs and barrier/roadway walls
- • Carry, position and mark heavy steel bars; bend and tie bars using wire and pliers
- • Work from design drawings and follow instructions from the foreman to meet production schedules
- • Comply with all site safety rules, report unsafe conditions, and use PPE correctly
- • Maintain basic rodbusting tools and keep work areas organized to support efficient concrete operations
What we're looking for
- • Minimum 6 months documented field rebar (rodbusting) experience required
- • Reliable transportation to and from job sites and ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs repeatedly
- • Comfort working outdoors, at heights, and in varying weather conditions; able to work overtime and travel within Florida
- • Own basic rodbusting tools and must be able to read and follow written and oral instructions
- • Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to pass site-required screenings
Qualifications
- • NCCER or other relevant craft certification preferred (support provided for certification prep)
- • At least 6 months documented field rebar experience
- • Ability to lift 75 lbs, carry long lengths of rebar, and work from ladders/scaffolds
- • Able to read and interpret basic construction drawings and markings
- • Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
