About This Role

Join a Tampa-based rebar crew as a Rodbuster working on bridge and highway projects across Florida. You’ll spend most days outdoors tying and placing rebar in footings, columns, decks, barriers and other bridge elements while working under a foreman on fast-paced jobs. This role pays $23–$31.50/hr (higher rates require passing the NCCER assessment). You’ll get hands-on training, a team environment that emphasizes safety and quality, health benefits after 90 days, and 401(k) eligibility after one year. Must have field rebar experience, reliable transportation, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly.

What You'll Do

• • Tie and place rebar in bridge footings, columns, pier caps, decks, approach slabs, traffic and roadway barriers
• • Carry, position, mark, and bend heavy steel bars (10–60 ft) and assemble rebar cages
• • Tie intersecting bars with tie wire and pliers; secure rebar horizontally for slabs and vertically for columns/walls
• • Load/unload rebar bundles and place material at the final destination as instructed
• • Follow foreman’s directions and project drawings; report unsafe conditions and stop work if necessary

What We're Looking For

• • Minimum of 6 months documented field rebar (rodbusting) experience — ironwork only is not enough
• • Reliable transportation to and from job sites and ability to travel between project locations
• • Able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs repeatedly and work at heights when required
• • Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather and on a fast-paced crew
• • Access to basic rodbusting tools and willingness to maintain them
• • Ability to read basic drawings, follow written and verbal instructions, and work overtime/nights/weekends as needed

Qualifications

• • Legally authorized to work in the United States (E-Verify employer)
• • NCCER certification (required for higher pay rates; preferred)
• • Minimum 6 months documented field rebar experience
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• • Ability to use and maintain basic rodbuster tools (pliers, tie wire, paint/keel for marking)
• • Able to communicate in English to understand instructions and read basic drawings
