Roll Form Operator
About this role
Join a busy manufacturing shop in Phoenix as a hands-on Roll Form Operator running and maintaining a roll forming line for steel components. You will lead daily production, perform setups and changeovers, make machine adjustments to meet print specs, inspect finished parts for quality, and keep accurate setup and maintenance logs. This is a lead role on the floor — you’ll train and coordinate other operators, handle material movement (including forklift work), and use basic computer tools to track labor and inventory. The position is physical and safety-focused; ideal candidates have solid manufacturing experience, mechanical aptitude, and a proven ability to hit production targets while maintaining quality.
What you'll do
- • Set up, operate, and adjust roll forming machines and related equipment to meet print specifications and tolerances
- • Perform line changeovers, maintain setup charts, and log routine and preventative maintenance
- • Inspect panels and finished parts for quality, check dimensions, and manage scrap and material usage records
- • Lead and train other operators; organize, stack, mark, pack, and move finished parts (forklift operation required)
- • Maintain accurate labor, inventory, and coil/footage records in shop systems
- • Follow safety procedures, wear required PPE, and keep work area clean and organized
What we're looking for
- • 3+ years of manufacturing or production experience, with prior machine operator work required
- • 2+ years of forklift operation experience and current forklift operator certification
- • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills—experience with roll forming is a strong plus
- • Ability to read basic blueprints, sketches, and print specifications
- • Comfort using basic computer tools (spreadsheets, word processing, and shop tracking/ERP systems)
- • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull materials, and stand or sit for extended periods
Qualifications
- • Forklift operator certification (required)
- • High school diploma or GED preferred
- • 3+ years manufacturing experience; roll forming experience is a plus
- • Familiarity with shop controllers and ERP/inventory systems is a plus
- • Proficient with spreadsheets and basic computer recordkeeping
- • English language proficiency for safe communication on the floor
