Safety Manager / Safety Officer
About This Role
Work across construction sites nationwide protecting crews and keeping jobs compliant. You’ll lead daily safety activities, run inspections, investigate incidents, and make sure work follows OSHA, state, and local rules. This role is hands-on: you’ll be on site with crews, running toolbox talks, writing reports, and coaching supervisors and workers. Ideal candidates are construction-savvy, clear communicators, and comfortable enforcing rules to keep people safe and projects moving.
What You'll Do
- • Perform daily jobsite safety inspections and document findings
- • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis; prepare corrective action plans
- • Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and on-site training for crews and supervisors
- • Enforce safety procedures, permits, PPE use, and worksite controls
- • Monitor compliance with OSHA, state, local, and environmental regulations
- • Prepare reports, safety metrics, and communicate findings to project leadership
What We're Looking For
- • Strong verbal and written communication across crews, supervisors, and management
- • Proven knowledge of building codes, OSHA standards, and construction site hazards
- • Experience conducting accident investigations and root cause analysis
- • Familiarity with environmental regulations and jobsite controls
- • Ability to enforce safety procedures firmly and fairly across crews
- • Willingness to travel to project sites nationwide and work in outdoor/construction environments
Qualifications
- • OSHA 30-hour Construction Outreach preferred (required for many positions)
- • First Aid/CPR and HAZWOPER or equivalent hazardous-materials training
- • Confined Space, Fall Protection, and Permit-Required Lockout/Tagout training preferred
- • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background/drug screening
- • High school diploma or GED; technical or safety degree is a plus
- • English required; Spanish or other language skills a plus
