Certified MOT Manager / Safety Officer
About This Role
Join a busy Philadelphia crew as a Certified MOT Manager to lead traffic control and keep crews and the public safe on active roadwork sites. You’ll develop and execute traffic control plans, install and inspect devices, supervise flaggers, and keep accurate daily MOT logs. This is a hands-on field role for someone with highway experience who can work under pressure, enforce safety rules, and communicate clearly on site. What You'll Do
- • Develop and execute site-specific traffic control (MOT) plans and adjust as conditions change
- • Install, maintain, inspect, and remove traffic control devices per the plan and regulations
- • Assign work to flaggers, supervise their performance, and provide on-the-job training
- • Complete daily MOT reports, maintenance logs, and incident/inspection records
- • Monitor inventory of signs, cones, barricades, and provide replacements as needed
- • Serve as the on-site liaison for traffic maintenance with owners, inspectors, and contractors
What We're Looking For
- • 2–5 years highway or traffic control experience on construction projects
- • ATSSA Certification and/or SHA Traffic Manager Certification required
- • Working knowledge of traffic control devices, MUTCD standards, and permit requirements
- • Proven leadership and clear verbal/written communication with crews and inspectors
- • Ability to work in all weather, manage tight deadlines, and perform hands-on setup
- • Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or GED
- • ATSSA Certification and/or SHA Traffic Manager Certification
- • 2–5 years of highway traffic control experience
- • Valid driver's license
- • Must pass drug screen and background check
- • Spanish fluency a plus
