Exterior Skin General Foreman

Nationwide $23-$39/hr

About this role

Hands-on field foreman needed to lead exterior skin crews installing insulated metal panels, rainscreen systems, sheet metal flashing and trim, louvers and expansion joints across the Southeast. This role is a working foreman: you’ll be on the wall with the crew while you plan work, enforce safety, and own quality. Expect regional travel to multi-month projects based from the Southeast (preferred home base South Florida or Nashville). You’ll supervise multiple crews in an open-shop market, manage tools and materials, coordinate with project leadership, and develop installers into future foremen and superintendents.

What you'll do

  • Lead and work alongside one or more exterior skin crews each day — assign tasks, set production goals, and ensure quality workmanship.
  • Plan and sequence exterior skin work: staging, hoisting, crew loading, site logistics, and integration with the overall project schedule.
  • Read and translate contract drawings, shop drawings, and envelope details into accurate field layout and installation direction.
  • Enforce manufacturer installation requirements and quality control: mock-ups, in-progress inspections, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
  • Manage regional tools, lifts and specialty equipment; track inventory, move equipment between jobs, and oversee preventive maintenance.
  • Create and lead site-specific safety plans, daily huddles, JHAs, fall protection controls and stop-work authority when needed.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years hands-on experience installing exterior skin systems (IMP, rainscreen, sheet metal flashing, louvers, expansion joints).
  • 3–5+ years as a lead installer, foreman, or general foreman directing crews on complex envelope projects.
  • Proven ability to read architectural drawings, shop drawings and envelope details and translate them to field layout.
  • Comfort working at elevation and in all weather; able to perform installation tasks alongside crew members.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regionally for multi-month project assignments across the Southeast.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background/drug screening where required.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 (or ability to obtain)
  • Competent person and fall protection certifications (or ability to obtain)
  • Equipment operator certifications for lifts/hoists preferred
  • Proven project list or verifiable references showing projects you ran
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

What we offer

  • Per diem and travel support for multi-month regional assignments.
  • Paid time off and regional project scheduling to balance time at home.
  • Career development path with mentorship into superintendent roles and craft training opportunities.
  • Company-supported safety and equipment training; access to specialty tools and lifts.
  • Health and retirement options (details provided during hiring) and equipment/tool allowances.
