Solar Installer / Technician

About this role

Join a renewables crew based in the Tampa/Central Florida area installing commercial and industrial rooftop PV systems. This hands-on role combines rooftop racking and module installation, material handling, crew leadership, and coordination with electrical trades on active jobsites. You’ll run laborer crews, manage site logistics and material flow, read structural drawings and schematics, perform roof penetrations and anchoring, and troubleshoot grid-tied systems. Travel to projects across the U.S. is required.

What you'll do

• • Lead and run laborer crews on commercial/industrial rooftop PV projects; assign tasks and maintain safe, efficient workflow
• • Install rooftop racking systems, mount panels, wire inverters, and perform MC4 terminations for grid-tied systems
• • Read and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and site documentation
• • Perform roof penetrations, anchoring, sealing/welding, trenching, foundations, bollards and flatwork per specs
• • Operate material-handling equipment and aerial lifts; manage deliveries, offloads, and on-site material flow
• • Coordinate daily with electricians and other trades; perform routine system troubleshooting and maintenance

What we're looking for

• • 5+ years hands-on solar/PV installation experience (required) and 7+ years in commercial/industrial construction
• • Proven crew lead or foreman experience on commercial rooftop projects
• • Strong electrical knowledge of AC/DC systems, grid-tied PV systems, inverters and MC4 terminations
• • Ability to read structural drawings, technical documentation and perform site layout
• • Willingness to travel to projects across the U.S.; able to work outdoors and lift heavy materials
• • Own basic hand and power tools and maintain them for daily use

Qualifications

• • OSHA 10 (required); OSHA 30 (preferred)
• • Forklift operator certification (preferred)
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel for assignments
• • Proven experience with MC4 terminations, inverters, and PV testing tools
• • English (required)
