Superintendent

About This Role

Lead and supervise excavation and grading crews for civil site development projects in Rayville, LA. You’ll run the job site—plan daily work, set and check grades, coordinate heavy equipment, and keep crews productive and safe. This role requires hands-on leadership: reading civil plans, operating or directing operators on dozers, excavators, graders and rollers, managing materials and equipment logs, and training crew members on best practices and safety. Pay: up to $0/hr.

What You'll Do

• • Supervise and train excavation crews and equipment operators on daily tasks and safety procedures
• • Direct site clearing, excavation, leveling, erosion control and pipe installation to finished grades
• • Read and interpret civil plans, set and verify grades with laser levels, grade rods and GPS tools
• • Coordinate and schedule heavy equipment (dozers, excavators, graders, rollers) and maintain on-site equipment logs
• • Manage time-and-material tracking, keep personnel and material records, and report progress to project management
• • Mentor crew members, enforce safety standards, and conduct regular site inspections

What We're Looking For

• • Minimum 3–5 years supervising excavation/earthwork crews or equivalent foreman experience
• • Proven experience with heavy earthwork equipment operations and coordinating multiple machines on mass grading jobs
• • Ability to read civil drawings, set/check grades using laser/GPS surveying tools and perform basic layout
• • Strong recordkeeping skills: daily logs for personnel, equipment, materials and time-and-material job entries
• • Ability to train and discipline crews, enforce safety, and work around electrical transmission lines and steep terrain
• • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and travel to nearby sites as needed

Qualifications

• • Valid driver’s license; CDL Class A preferred (or ability to obtain)
• • OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 preferred; First Aid/CPR preferred
• • Proven experience with GPS grade control and civil survey tools (laser level, grade rod)
• • Experience operating or supervising: dozer, excavator, motor grader, loader, roller, skid steer
• • Familiarity with excavation/trench work, erosion control, and working near power lines
• • English fluency; bilingual (Spanish) a plus
