Full time

Construction Superintendent

Phoenix, Arizona

About this role

Take charge of commercial and industrial projects in Phoenix. You will run the day-to-day field operations, coordinate trade crews and subcontractors, and make sure work follows plans, codes, and site schedules. This role is hands-on: you’ll read drawings, spot-check quality, and enforce safety and regulatory requirements. This is a full-time, on-site position in Phoenix. Expect a standard weekday schedule with overtime and occasional weekend work as project needs dictate. Strong leadership, clear communication with crews (including journeyman and plumbers), and practical construction experience are required.

What you'll do

  • Manage daily field operations: schedule crews, assign tasks, and track progress on commercial and industrial scopes
  • Read and interpret drawings and specs; verify layout and sequence against plans
  • Coordinate and supervise trades, including journeyman and plumbers, and monitor subcontractor performance
  • Ensure work complies with local regulations, building codes, and site safety rules; hold daily toolbox talks
  • Perform quality checks, document deficiencies, and follow up to close punch list items
  • Communicate schedule updates, delays, and material needs to project management and on-site teams

What we're looking for

  • Proven superintendent experience in general, commercial, or industrial construction
  • Able to read construction drawings, details, and specifications and apply them on site
  • Hands-on experience supervising journeyman crews and coordinating plumbers and other trades
  • Strong working knowledge of building regulations, codes, and on-site safety requirements
  • Clear communicator with basic computer skills for reporting, RFIs, and daily logs
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from Phoenix job sites

Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 (preferred)
  • Journeyman plumbing credential or demonstrated experience managing journeyman plumbers (preferred)
  • First Aid/CPR certification (preferred)
  • Proven ability to read plans and perform layout
  • English fluency required; bilingual Spanish a plus
  • Clean driving record

What we offer

  • Medical, dental, and vision options available
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Retirement plan with employer match
  • Overtime opportunities and steady project schedule
  • Site-specific training and opportunities for career advancement
  • Tools/equipment allowance or provision of required PPE and jobsite gear
