Construction Superintendent - Raleigh, NC
About This Role
Looking for experienced construction superintendents based in Raleigh, NC to lead commercial projects from ground-up through closeout. You’ll be the on-site leader—running day-to-day field operations, coordinating subs, and keeping projects on schedule and on budget. Ideal candidates bring solid commercial construction leadership with experience at large general contractors or design-build firms. You’ll work closely with project managers and owners, enforce safety and quality standards, manage permitting and inspections, and keep thorough project documentation.
What You'll Do
- • Lead daily field operations: manage foremen, craft crews, and subcontractors to meet schedule and quality goals
- • Coordinate site logistics and schedules, sequence work, and resolve on-site conflicts to minimize delays
- • Perform regular inspections and enforce safety procedures to meet company and regulatory standards
- • Review drawings and RFIs, verify work to plans and specs, and report progress to project management
- • Manage permitting, inspections, subcontractor scope clarity, and on-site documentation (daily reports, photos, change logs)
- • Track labor and material costs, support billing, and provide input for job cost reporting and closeout
What We're Looking For
- • 5+ years as a superintendent on commercial construction projects with a large GC or design-build background
- • Proven leadership and team management with strong verbal and written communication across trades and stakeholders
- • Skilled at reading civil, technical and architectural drawings; perform work inspection and quality control
- • Knowledge of building codes, permit/inspection processes, safety regulations, and site layout practices
- • Experience with scheduling, subcontractor coordination, cost control, bid review, and contract management
- • Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam or similar) and MS Office
Qualifications
- • OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- • Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- • High school diploma or GED required; degree or certificate in construction management or related field preferred
- • Proficiency in construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD) and mobile reporting tools
